Dark organic chocolate is also a source of iron, and its content in 100 g of product is about 8-12 mg per 100 g of product. Iron is a component of hemoglobin contained in red blood cells, so its deficiency results in anemia. This element is responsible for the transport of oxygen to the cells. Chocolate also contains large amounts of phosphorus, potassium and zinc. Phosphorus is primarily found in teeth and bones. Potassium, on the other hand, enables muscle contraction and maintains electrolyte balance in the body. In turn, zinc affects the health of the skin and its products and supports metabolism. It is also worth adding that vitamin B3 contained in chocolate allows the synthesis of many hormones and regulates the level of cholesterol in the blood.

As for macroelements, it is worth mentioning that chocolate is a source of carbohydrates that provide the energy necessary for the proper functioning of the muscles and nervous system. It also contains a lot of fat, which is a building component of tissues and some hormones. However, the influence of chocolate on the human body results from the presence of not only macro- and microelements in its composition. In this case, it is also worth paying attention to theobromine, which has a positive effect on blood cholesterol, intensively stimulates the nervous system and can significantly lower blood pressure. Also present in chocolate is phenylethylamine, a hormone from the endorphin group that improves mood and increases pain resistance.
